Gobinath Thilagar
I'm a researcher in marine biotechnology and biochemistry. Most of my work is about finding useful things in marine waste, like turning shells from crabs, mussels and murex into chitosan, and using seaweed to make wound-healing hydrogels.
I also study how natural compounds protect the body from toxins and oxidative stress. That has led me into neuroscience topics like Alzheimer's disease, diabetic neuropathy and OCD. My research has been published in journals including Toxicology Reports, Chemistry and Physics of Lipids and Frontiers in Bioscience, and I've written a book chapter with CRC Press.
I started Gene Chapter to explain biology, chemistry, physics in plain language.
